Antique Victor Talking Machine “VV-XVI” Record Player
$ 450.00
Incredible antique standing phonograph record player from the Victor Talking Machine Co. Model "VV-XVI" which was first introduced in 1906 to appeal to wealthier customers these were priced at $200 at the time which is $5,700 in today's money. One of the first record players to have a lid that closed and this model is special as it includes "tone doors." Tone doors were so you could have the lid closed but still listen to your record you opened the door and could play music quieter than if the lid was raised. This model also includes these fantastic "L-Shaped" cabinets with amazing pull out storage drawers with room for over 50 records! This is a stunning piece and a real find for collectors. Fully works but be warned SHELLAC RECORDS ONLY this will NOT play modern vinyls!!!
