2009 Theater Salvage

A blast from the past when we had just removed 600 theater seats. This week we spent a few days removing theater seats from Chief Sealth High School in West Seattle. Although overwhelming to look at before we started, once we tore into them they came out relatively fast and easy.

2009 Sad Blog

A sad, but funny cry for help with the blog from 2009. Blog….guess most blogs mean people keep up with them. We’re still trying to figure that out. Do we make a post for every mundane vanity and vinyl window pick up? Do we talk about how routine the last strip out was with the 6 doors, 2 vanities, and small oak kitchen cabinet set? Do we post about pending projects…only to jinx them?  Maybe after lugging 8′ vanities with slate countertops down two flights of stairs we’re too tired to write about it.

2009 School Job Summary

A throwback to the summer of school jobs. This last week found us at a couple of schools in the area. We started at McMicken Elementary over in Tukwila where we got a jump on the asbestos people and salvaged a lot of fir.  And if pulling and denailing tons of trim wasn’t exciting enough…we got to witness the local SWAT team practicing their bomb detonations!

2009 Locker Salvage

2009 Metal Cabinet Salvage

We recently had a chance to go back and relive our childhood on a recent salvage job at Catherine Blaine K-8 school in Magnolia. Although it was tempting to take a nap after our first recess we continued working diligently to remove several kitchens worth of vintage Lyon steel cabinets. If you’ve ever wanted a cool retro look here’s what a little sandblasting and fresh coat of paint could do.
