Zheng Xie “Ignorance Is Bliss”

$ 40.00

A framed piece of embroidery in black and white thread (with some red for signatures) in Chinese by Zheng Xie, otherwise known as Zheng Banqiao, a magistrate during the Qing Dynasty. I don't speak Chinese, and this was the result of some detective work from Google Translate, but it's a reference to the original "Ignorance is bliss" saying: "It is rare to be confused; hard to attain muddle-headedness." It's likely a variation of this quote, although we can't 100% verify this.
