Vintage Brass Curtain(?) Clips

A box of Gould-Mersereau Co. "Avona" clips in shiny gold brass. These are mostly from the 1950s, and though I know Gould primarily made decorative hardware for soft furnishings, I'm not sure exactly what these are - I'm guessing they're meant to hold curtains on a slim curtain rod. They're lovely little things, with teensy stamped detail, marked made in Germany. The box originally contained 100, probably about 3/4 of that now.
