Antique Spool Bedstead
$ 295.00
An antique bed frame that looks to be manufactured out of a dark mahogany. It's comprised of a headboard and footboard (which are essentially identical in make) and two side rails. The head/footboards are made up of a top and bottom rail, connected by nine spindles, each of which, including the toprail and the corner posts, are spool turned. With mortise and tenon construction for the frame, the side rails can hold up to nine slats beneath your box spring. Estimated date of construction to be somewhere around 1850 to 1870 or so. The bed frame predates modern mattress standards, so it doesn't quite match up with any in specific, landing somewhere between a twin and a full, but there are manufacturers that make custom-sized mattresses and likely have a backstock that will fit this frame.
