6/4 Afromosia

$ 20.00

New stock 6/4 Afromosia. Sometimes referred to as African teak, though not closely related to genuine teak . Compared to teak, afrormosia has similar weight and strength, nearly comparable rot resistance, and a similar appearance (though some pieces can be a yellower golden brown and more closely resemble satinwood, especially when freshly sawed). Afrormosia is a lower-cost alternative to genuine teak. Still a pricey wood to source, retails for $18+ per board foot at the local exotic wood importer. 1530 Janka hardness rating... that is pretty hard!!!
