Locally milled and vacuum kiln dried cottonwood, which is not a wood you find slabbed very often due to the difficulty of drying it. In fact, it is such a high moisture wood that you can't even burn it without air drying for years; when cut down most Cottonwood is just chipped. Our supplier uses a specially made vacuum kiln to get it dry. This piece looks like it would make a great coffee table, bench seat, or maybe a couple shelves if you half it. Tapers from ~26" to 24" and is cupping a bit. Dimensions and board footage (~27.4 BF) are approximate.
