One doesn't typically associate an acorn with elegant refinement - unless you're looking at this delightful neoclassical acorn light! The fitter is definitely antique - probably circa 1900s-1910s, the shade might be a high quality reproduction (I suspect this because it came in with a matching shade on a different fitter). The fitter is brass with lovely patina, the diffuser shade is frosted milk glass, blown into a mold with botanical flourishes for the perfect classical feel.
