Somebody got ... creative with their problem solving on this door. Seems like they needed it to be slightly thicker, so they glued strips along the rails / stiles on one side. The remnants of one of those strips remains, and the painted side now has a pretty wild looking finish. The other side, however, is dark stained and looking good. Maybe this could become the barn style door that covers up your water heater or some other space where nobody will ever see the backside of this door.
