Kazimir Malevich was a Russian avant-garde artist, whose work had a hand in influencing the abstract art movement of the 20th century. This piece is titled "Suprematism Contour Of Sportsmen" a figure depicted in Kazimir's 1931 painting of the same name. These figures were reproduced for a Guggenheim Museum exhibit in the 1990s. This figure is marked "Guggenheim Museum 1994 SKGF" on the bottom. Very unique and special item from a renowned and important artist who shaped a great deal how we see and analyze art. Some major chipping of the paint but this is an original and is truly a special piece.
