This beefy cylinder was most likely a fire pit and could totally still be used as one, but I saw the potential for use as a planter as well. Picture this: you fill it with soil in the spring, plant your seeds, watch it grow and flourish. When autumn comes around, you dump the soil, burn your dead plants, and use it as a fire pit when it starts getting colder! Then, by the time spring comes around again, you have a nice ash base for your new soil.
