June 19 – Hanging Doors

Installing salvaged doors can add character and function to any home, but it can also be a tricky task. Pacific Iron’s Building Materials will lead this workshop, giving participants the tools, tips and resources needed to successfully install interior and exterior doors. Instruction will cover shopping for the right door, installing a door into an existing jamb, and installing a pre-hung door.
July 17 – Plumbing

Whether it is a unique vintage faucet or a brand new model, plumbing fixtures and projects can be daunting for any homeowner. This workshop will help participants shop for fixtures, understand code requirements, and replace parts. The Environmental Coalition of South Seattle will join to talk about conservation and environmental responsibility.

Salvaged cabinets are one of the fastest-selling items at Second Use. This workshop will help take the intimidation out of your kitchen remodel. Learn about the rewards and challenges of salvaged cabinets and help make the installation process straightforward. In this workshop, you will get practical information about the parts of a cabinet, different kinds of cabinets, and what is the best fit for your project.
