Customer Project Highlight – 100% Authentic Reuse
When we heard one of our customer’s restaurants opened up last week, we wanted to be first in line to visit! After a minimum 30 trips to both of Second Use’s locations (as well as other Seattle salvage locations), Julian Hagood has opened his second Seattle restaurant. With the help of architects Hoedemaker Pfeiffer, Julian has opened a new Seattle treasure in Harry’s Beach House. When we asked why Julian chose to use so much salvage goodness he said, “I wanted to build something authentic. You get 0% authenticity when you use 100% new materials. Besides, I love Second Use. You’ll find me there on my days off.” We couldn’t even get in the door before spotting flower pots found at our store. We suggest you take in the cozy atmosphere and delicious food for yourself with a visit to 2676 Alki SW, open Wednesdays-Sundays 10-10, before next summer when the rest of the world is sure to find out about it.
A couple of large pieces found at Second Use are featured prominently, including this oversized hutch and superb Art Deco deli case. Much of their kitchen equipment also!
Gorgeous lighting all over the place, many pieces found at our Tacoma location, and others in Seattle.
Several finishing touches were found at Second Use as well. From the Mt. Si High School lectern, to the collage of old song posters in the powder room, from the perfectly at home picnic table, to the weathered wood bench on the patio.
