This humble but refined darling certainly lives up to the brothers' "Ye Quaint Style," inspired by centuries of craft tradition and quality materials over trendy ornament - a philosophy that wouldnot only come to define the Craftsman and Mission movements, but make their products timeless heirlooms, at home amongst furniture of any period. A few Quaint Furniture catalogues are available online, though this exact unit doesn't appear in those editions. It may actually be a stool - at least it appears to have been used as such at one point or another based on the wear to the crossbars. The Stickley craftsmanship speaks for itself in this little piece that remains as sound and functional as ever, despite all evidence showing 100+ years of a life well lived!
