Pair of 19th Century Chinese Celadon Vase Lamps

$ 595.00

A matched pair of Chinese baluster form porcelain vases glazed in celadon, sporting double Foo Dog handles and decorated with a scene depicting a group of nobles or scholars (or possibly even one of the Sanxing gods) hand painted in cobalt and white underglaze. The vases are likely late 19th or very early 20th century, converted into lamps sometime in the mid 20th century. The overall condition is excellent, with only the small, characterful glaze imperfections common with ceramics of this age. They rest on carved wooden bases and come with tall silk shades to match. Shades have some minor cosmetic defects.
