Masonic Rams Head Column

$ 795.00

Stunning plaster column from the old Scottish Rite Temple near Wright Park in Tacoma. Lovingly (and very carefully) removed from the G street cathedral - some 40+ feet in the air - by two Second Use veterans. The temple was built from 1921 to '22, and this original piece features the mythologically rich, cross-cultural symbol of the winged double headed ram. In place, it was situated adjacent to a plaster figure holding a tablet marked with the Freemason's compass. While we are saddened by the falling of the building itself, local historical pieces such as this can serve as a potent memento of our city's past, the stories & lives our community is imbued with, and we're proud and honored to have been a part of the preservation of this piece. Note: This has taken a little fall, and come out with a little damage. New price reflects this.
