Second Use’s new employee, Dave Lacey, will lead a free workshop on incorporating salvage into your garden patio Sunday, June 3, from 1-3 p.m. He will provide step-by-step instructions on how to set up the foundation, adding unconventional materials to the patio (granite pieces, bricks, decorative metal items, stones from your yard), and giving the project a finished look. Dave has more than 10 years of experience in landscaping, with a background in environmental restoration. After the patio instruction, he will be happy to throw out a number of other ideas you can use to spruce up your garden with salvage—bird baths, bat houses, rain gutters and more. As a teaser, Dave is as knowledgeable as he is tall, and he’s 6 feet 9 inches!

The workshop is free, but an RSVP is required. To RSVP or for questions, call or e-mail Elena Velkov ([email protected], 206-763-6929 x13). When you RSVP, please include the name, phone number and e-mail address for all attendees.
